Building Athletes, Sportsmanship and Motivation

 Penticton Minor Fastpitch League Rules

1. Softball BC Rule Book for all rules.

2.  All coaches, players and umpires are STICTLY PROHIBITED from smoking or using any type of tabacco products in the vicinity of the ball park.  Use of chewing gum and sunflower seeds amongst players in the game is also prohibited.  No alcohol allowed.

3.  Harassment or abuse of teammates, opposition team members, officials, and executive members will not be tolerated and may result in suspension 5 runs per inning NO opening inning.

6.  You can play a league game with 7 players.

7.  Slide and avoid rule is always in effect.(softball bc rule) Base stealing is allowed in U-12  up.

8.  All players bat and any number of defensive substitutions are allowed during the game.  Bunting is allowed.

9.  It is the responsibility of the coach to ensure a fair balance of infield and outfield play.(when safe)  The coach will try to accommodate all player''s position requests whenever possible and within the players ability to safely play that position.  U-14 & higher divisions players are expected to be playing 1 or 2 positions at this age(does not have to be infield or outfield)

10.  HOME team is responsible to rake the field- parents to do this duty.

11.  Pitching:  ***players need to practice at home***  DVDs are available to help with technique.  Pitching is a very important part of fastpitch ao coaches need to develope the pitchers. 

12.  Equipment needed: 

       U-10 and up divisions - Jill, mouthguard, helmut with cage, glove and proper foot wear and sliding shorts(recommended).

        FULL UNIFORM for ALL GAMES- hat, jersey, shorts, and socks. 

       Blastball Division - Helmut, glove and proper shoes, hat and shirt will be provided.

 13.  U-10 ONLY RULES:

       1st and 3rd inning a player pitches and the 2nd and 4th inning(only 6 pitches) the coach pitches or pitching machine.  ONLY 4 inning games.  NO STEALING.
